The traditional torch St. Joseph
Start spring by immersing yourself in the traditions from the Maremma.
In the streets of the village of Pitigliano, during the night of St. Joseph, an ancient pagan ceremony takes place: a purifying bonfire is lit to introduce the beginning of the new season. Here folklore and religion are intertwined. The celebration ends with the burning of the puppet of "Invernacciu", which symbolizes that the winter season is over.
